Our mission.

To ensure that the athletic infrastructure within the Town of Fairfield, CT, is competitive and focused on meeting the needs of our growing community through a commitment towards premier facilities, advocacy of a healthy lifestyle, youth development through athletics, and the promotion of the town as a whole.

Fairfield Athletic Foundation came about because a group of concerned residents decided enough is enough.

  • They were tired of going to athletic tournaments all over our state and region and seeing facilities that were far superior to those in Fairfield.

  • They were tired of seeing neighboring towns AND cities investing in their field infrastructure and children, adding fields and playing time.

  • They were tired of watching other towns have amazing game day experiences with music and scoreboards.

  • They were tired of our High Schools practicing late on school nights due to lack of turf field space.

  • They were tired of knowing 14 of the 17 high schools in the FCIAC have multiple turf surfaces to practice and play on while the 3 that don't are Warde, Ludlowe and Bridgeport Central.

Most of all, they were tired of complaining, hoping that someone else will step in to fix these issues.

The Fairfield Athletic Foundation is a group of organizers and doers, committed to working with the Fairfield town government in a positive manner, while pushing for improvements to be made NOW, not some time in the future. We are actively creating a plan, which will include fundraising, to expedite investments in our facilities in an effort to help the 15,000 children and taxpaying adults who utilize these spaces.

Please join us! Let's do this together, Fairfield!

OUR PLAN

SHORT-TERM.

  • Work in conjunction with the town of Fairfield on bringing turf fields to Sullivan Field and Roger Ludlowe Middle School by Fall 2022

  • The FAF will actively advocate for these projects by communicating with town bodies (i.e. BOF, BOS, RTM and elected officials) and participating in the October capital planning meeting

  • The FAF will also commit to a fundraising plan in conjunction with the town

MID-RANGE.

  • Partner with Parks and Recreation and other town bodies on additional infrastructure changes within the next 3-5 years; i.e. how do we improve our grass fields?

  • The FAF would like an active role in the creation of the Parks and Rec Master Plan

LONG-TERM.

  • Work with the BOE on getting a Warde turf complex on their waterfall chart

  • The FAF will be actively involved with advocating for these projects through education, awareness, community meetings, fundraising, etc.
