Fairfield’s current demand for competitive sports is far outpacing the infrastructure and field space to support this demand.
OUR MISSION
To ensure that the athletic infrastructure within the Town of Fairfield, CT, is competitive and focused on meeting the needs of our growing community through a commitment towards premier facilities, advocacy of a healthy lifestyle, youth development through athletics, and the promotion of the town as a whole.
RoGER LudlowE Middle School Turf Project
Bringing a multi-sport turf complex to RLMS achieves several things. It is located in the center of our town with access to 2 other Turf fields nearby (Ludlowe High School and Tomlinson Middle School) which makes this an attractive place to host tournaments and jamboree's on the doorstep of our downtown district. It also allows access for youth and high school overflow while being controlled by the Parks and Rec department.
Sullivan Field Turf Project
A multi-sport Sullivan complex would aid all of Fairfield's youth programs. The fields have a scenic location that currently is over utilized with very little downtime for the grass to recover due to its size and ability to hold multiple events. As a result it is in very bad shape at the conclusion of every season since it is used 7 days a week by older athletes. Current maintenance costs to cut, line and maintain run over $70,000 a year.
Fairfield Warde Complex
If you build it, they will come! Fairfield Warde represents the ideal location for a turf complex. As opposed to Fairfield Ludlowe, the Warde campus has enough space, roughly 415,000 square feet, to accommodate a complex. We asked AstroTurf Corporation to put together some ideas for a complex. See what they came back with.
